Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! And welcome to Tree and The Seed. My name is Christopher C. Schrock and this is my blog.

About CCS

I was born and raised in rural Indiana. While growing up I attended McGrawsville United Methodist Church with my family. After graduating from High School I completed my undergraduate degree (Religion & Philosophy) at Indiana Wesleyan University, Marion, Indiana.

In 2006, I married Julie Lynn, a painter from Michigan, and we started attending Trinity Evangelical Church (CREC), in Larwill, Indiana. From 2010 to 2012 I completed studies for pastoral ministry and theology at Trinity Pastors College, studying under the auspices and authority of Trinity Evangelical’s Elders. Now I am a pastor at Christ Covenant Reformed Church (CREC), in Billings, Montana. I enjoy reading, writing, fishing, and roaming the Beartooth Mountains with my family. I have had academic prose published in Christian Scholar’s Review and poetry published in SNACKS!, The Curator, and Paper Mill. I am also a contributor at The Parbar Collective.

Julie and I have five children: Moses, Kati, Hazel, Ana, and Quince.

About “Tree and The Seed”

The title for this blog comes from the title of a mixed media piece displayed behind the nameplate of this blog. That piece was created by my wife, and I selected it from a botanical study she had begun a handful of years ago.

“Tree and The Seed” represents, for me, the richness and fruitfulness of the Christian life, a life grounded in the life of the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the Righteous Man that is “like a tree firmly planted by streams of water” (see Psalm 1).
