The first and best stream which issues out of this fountain of love is faithful and fervent prayer. This extends itself to all things, at all times, throughout the whole course of the child’s life. It is the first and last duty which parents ought to perform to their children, even that which they must do without intermission: “pray without ceasing” (1 Thess. 5:17).
